It may not come as a surprise to you, but I’ve become a fashion freak. I’m not necessarily interested in the current trends in and of themselves, but sometimes designers come out with something new and wonderful, or at least a new spin on something old and wonderful. These boots, which I found via Treehugger.com, are PHENOMENAL. They’ve got a hot mod look to them, and they’re made almost entirely of recycled plastic bags! These aren’t for everyone, of course; the patterned ones are a little on the wild side, but MAN I’m in love. They’re made by designer Camila Labra from Chile, and they’re $45 US dollars (I’m not sure if that includes shipping; dollars to donuts it doesn’t). According to treehugger.com, they’re made from heat-fusing plastic bags (which there are a lot of tutorials out on the net for now; Google will turn up even more than I could ever suggest), and according to the designer, they’re light, waterproof and non-toxic.
